LaDonna Carpenter Myers West, 98, resident of Seymour, Indiana, formerly Naples, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 6, 2021 at Seymour Place. She was a graduate of Shields High School Class of 1940. LaDonna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by all. LaDonna was passionate about helping others. She volunteered her time while living in Naples, Florida, at The Conservancy of Southwest Florida. During her 33 years in Naples, Florida, LaDonna loved to play tennis and shared her love for the sport through instructing others how to play. LaDonna worked at L.S. Ayres in Indianapolis until she moved to Naples where she obtained her realtor’s license. She also worked at Jacobson’s in Naples. LaDonna loved her Savior and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Naples while in Florida and a member of the First Baptist Church in Seymour.
LaDonna was born in 1922 to the late William Lawrence Carpenter and Beatrice (Gerdom) Carpenter in Seymour, Indiana.
In March of 1941, LaDonna married Donald W Myers Sr. and together they had four beloved children.
LaDonna was blessed with a large family and she is survived by; her children, Jolene Endicott, Don W (Judy) Myers Jr., Jane (Dan) Henkle, and Jenny (Dr. Harry) Ruth; 17 grandchildren, Jay (Christine) Endicott, Jill (Deryk) Baurle, Janna (Russell) Reed, Missy (Brad) Jones, Donald (Cindy) Myers III, Tim (Michalla) Myers, Carrie (Michael) Henley, Mandy (Adam) Hardebeck, Katie (Chris) Walls, Kristen (Patrick) Riecke, Kim (Kenneth) Cochran, DJ (Jordyn) Henkle, Kelly (Steve) DuMond, Ted (Alex) Henkle, Tyler Henkle, Greg (Courtney) Ruth and Libby (Seth) Campbell; 45 great-grandchildren; sister, Judith Carpenter Rigsbee; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Carpenter and Judy Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wallace E Carpenter, Robert J Carpenter, and Larry (Skip) Carpenter; great-granddaughter, Kamille J Walls; brother-in-law, Paul Rigsbee; niece, Debbie Rigsbee Vance; and nephews, Scott Carpenter and Tony Carpenter.
Friends may call on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Seymour from 10am until time of service.
Memorial service will be held at 11am with Rev. Larry Tingle and Rev. Patrick Riecke officiating.
Private family burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery, following the service.
