Karen L. Kiel, 81, of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Lutheran Community Home.
She was born in 1939, daughter of the late Ralph W. and Elizabeth Lee (Fowler) Keyes in Newark, Ohio.
On September 15, 1957, she married Daniel Kiel and he survives. They were married for 64 years. Karen was a graduate of Shields High School, Class of 1958, and a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Humanities and Psychology. After college, Karen worked for Centerstone for 29 years. Karen was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her children, Narci Kiel, Julie Kiel, Lori Kiel and Karrie (Randy) Boatwright; grandchildren, Brook (Kevin) Coomer, Shelby (Josh) Dailey, Corey Mueller, Kiel McGowan, Fionn McGowan, Anthony Ciavattone, Abriana (Tyler) Williams; great-grandchildren, Devin Freese, Addyson Coomer, Mia Dailey, Emersyn Dailey, Aurora Ciavattone, Theo Ciavattone; great-great grandchild, Noah Day; sister Lois (Roger) Eck.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Voss Chapel from 11am-1pm.
Life Celebration Service will follow the visitation at 1pm at Voss Chapel.
In keeping with Karen’s wishes, cremation services are being provided by Voss Funeral and Cremation Services.
Memorials may be written to Immanuel Lutheran School, Lakeview Ministries, Trinity Lutheran High School, Freeman Airfield Museum, or Donor’s Choice.
The family respectfully requests masks be worn inside funeral home.
