Suzanne Marie MacTavish, 55, of Seymour, passed away on February 10, 2021 at IU Health, Indianapolis.
Suzie was born in Seymour to Steven Hoadley Surface and Carol Diener Surface. She married Bruce MacTavish in December 2019.
Suzie was a graduate of Seymour High School. She attended Ball State University then worked at Jackson County Bank. She became an RN with her undergraduate degree from IU and completed her Master’s degree by correspondence while working at Schneck Memorial Hospital. She had worked at Columbus Hospital in pediatrics and then became a supervisor of Schneck Hospice. She also had worked for the Covered Bridge Nursing Home.
Most recently she was a nurse for the Seymour Community School system.

Suzie enjoyed taking care of people. She loved her patients and touched the lives of patients and families. Suzie fought a long and courageous battle with a great attitude. She loved her children fiercely and enjoyed her family time above all.

She is survived by her husband Bruce, children, Conner McDonald and Caroline McDonald. Her father Steven (Deana) Surface, brothers, Steve (Patty) Surface, Scott (Karen) Surface, Stuart (Sara) Surface, and Adam (Darci) Surface, her aunt Margaret Peggy (Steven) Ackerman.
She was preceded in death by her mother Carol Mears.

A walk-through viewing at Voss Chapel on Sunday, February 14, from 1PM until 3 PM. In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required before admittance to the funeral home as well as social distancing within the building. We kindly ask that there be no physical contact such as hugs or handshakes to protect staff and the family.

Private funeral services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
Entombment will be at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorial checks may be written to Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.
