Shermetta June Davidson, 69, of Seymour, passed away on August 30, 2021, at Schneck Medical Center.
She was born in 1951, daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Chastain) Lloyd in Indianapolis. On December 7, 2001, she married Alex Davidson Jr. in Jennings County. Shermetta was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary and an Avon Representative for 41 years. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Shermetta will always be remembered for being the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her beloved husband Alex; children, Vincent Bruce, Jeff Davidson, Jason Davidson, Shannon (Wes “Golden Boy”) Shelton; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Lloyd, William Lloyd; sister Ramona Glick.

Shermetta is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack Lloyd.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 4-8pm at Voss Chapel.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 10am at Voss Chapel with visitation one hour prior to service.

Burial will follow at Hayden Cemetery.

Memorials may be written to the American Cancer Society.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour.

Although we didn’t see each other often in past years, when I got the chance, I was always happy to see Shermetta. She was always warm and welcoming and acted like you were just the person she was hoping to run into. We shared many happy memories over the years: roller skating, volleyball, family picnics, all-night New Year’s Eve euchre games at my grandparents’ house, etc. In my heart, Shermetta was and always will be my sister-in-law.
