Mrs. Shelby Jean Pardieck, 79, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at 12:46 am on Monday, August 7, 2017. In the fall of 2015, Shelby was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was triumphant in beating the cancer but struggled with the effects the chemo had on her body. Our hearts are in a million pieces knowing she is no longer here, but it also makes us happy knowing she is no longer in pain.
Shelby was born on April 18, 1938, in Jackson County, to the late Harold Klinge and Grace (Teulker) Klinge. Shelby always had the warmest smile for anyone she met she did not know a stranger. She was so full of life, hilariously witty, had the biggest heart, and was just so beautiful. She was one of those people who could take over the room just by walking in the door. She and her husband, Don Pardieck, were married on August 5, 1956. Shelby and her husband were inseparable and did everything together, including farming. They personified the saying that two shall become one.
Shelby spent a lifetime in retail, starting at GC Murphy’s before moving to JCPenney in the sewing department. She and her husband than opened Little One’s Boutique together and this was a family business where the daughters helped as well. Shelby then retired from Cracker Barrel. Volunteering at Trinity Lutheran High School Resale shop was a great pride and joy in her life.
Shelby is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don; her children, Kathy (Jerry) Hohenstreiter, Linda (Anthony) Guffey, and Diane (Tim) Glick; her grandchildren, Justin Corne, Jordyn (DJ) Henkle, Jaryn (Andy) Ojeda, Jacob Corne, Jeff (Chandra) Campbell, Lindsey (Ryan) Huddleston, Joshua (Nicole) Campbell, and Nicholas Glick; her great-grandchildren, Kenzi, Eli and Griffin Henkle, Maddix and Moses Ojeda, Austin Campbell, Kamady Allman, Rylin, Kyndle and Jalyn Huddleston, Andy and Addison Campbell; and her brothers, Denver (Carolyn) Klinge and Steven (Debra) Klinge.
Shelby is preceded in death by her parents.
