Rick was such a sweet, funny, hard working man. I miss him dearly, he was always greeting me and telling me how he was glad to see me. Really I was glad to see him! He worked so hard these last few months we were almost at that goal... Rest easy my brother you earned those wings! Love Amanda your favorite nurse!

Rick worked with me and for me in his almost 40 year tenure at DFI. I always enjoyed hearing Rick talk about his family and what was going on with them. The joy in his voice was undeniable. Rick's sense of humor was always in the ready. He approached any new work challenge with energy and a real passion. I hate that his last 9 months on this earth were so difficult. I hope his family finds solace in knowing that Rick's earthly ailments are finally gone. I hope the many memories of Rick provide comfort for Brenda and all the family. Mark Tarpey

Rick was an absolute prince of a man. I proudly worked 6 years for him at the DFI, and he taught me so much about how to manage others and carry one's self professionally. Rick loved his family, IU, the Braves, and the Steelers, and appreciated great food and a place to could share a good story. He made connections all over the state, and years after his retirement, he made it a point to consistently have lunch with me and catch up. I owe him so much of my success, and he was so humble when I lumped praise upon him. I was so lucky to have worked for and with Rick, and I hope his family and friends know he made an impact upon me and many others. God bless the Bane family, and may his grandchildren that he was so proud of continue on with all of the great life lessons he instilled and inspired them with.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Brenda, Valarie and Bill, I am so sorry to hear this about Rick. I have many great memories of our camping trips with our kids and all our conversations and laughter we shared for many years. Rick was a good friend, always ready to help out any way he could. I remember the time we all went to Rick's parents, butchered a hog and we all brought home wrapped pork for our freezers. Please know that your in my heart, Brenda, love to you, prayers for you and family for peace....

Brenda, Valerie, and Bill(y)….sooooo many childhood memories at the Bane’s house! One evening throwing a football in the front yard and Rick told me I had a great spiral. I really had no idea what that was, but I was very proud! I know you will miss him terribly, you will be in my prayers.
