Dear Dottie, Peggy, Cindy and families -- I remember your mom's lovely smile and positive attitude. She was a very caring person. When she and my mom (Helen "Gladys" Hedrick) got together, it was non-stop talking and lots of giggling. First cousins can be like that. I met Mertice while working at covered bridge. We would tell everyone she was my grandma. I spent alot of time just sharing stories and a few times crying on her shoulder. She always knew what to say, she would turn my bad days around and make my good days even better. She made me a Christmas boot and I'll forever cherish it. Prayers to all of you she was an amazing woman and so very loved!

I met Mertice one summer when I worked at SICA part time. She was part of the fabulous Wednesday Ladies Group that painted there every Wednesday. She was such a joy to be around and I enjoyed learning and talking with her and all those fine ladies. Remember the joyous times with her.
