Johnola Day Wyatt, 90, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Covered Bridge Health Campus. She was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky to the late John & Alice (Gilley) Day. She married James Harris Wyatt, Jr. on December 23, 1948, who preceded her in death on April 5, 2018.
Johnola was a member of Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Church in Freetown, Indiana. She was a homemaker and a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, reading and gardening. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed dinners and family gatherings.
She is survived by her sons; Charles R. (Linda) Wyatt, Jesse (Louann) Wyatt, John (Sandy) Wyatt and James “Tip” Wyatt; daughter Deborah Stover; daughter-in-law Barbara Wyatt; son-in-law, Floyd Thompson; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Johnola is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years; sons David Wyatt, Stephen Paul Wyatt; and daughter, Harriet Thompson.
Private family services will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Church. A private family burial will follow at Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Cemetery.
