Mrs. Jo Ann McKain, 81, of Seymour, IN, passed away September 4, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. McKain was born in Monon, IN in 1940 to the late Reinhold John “Tom” and Loretta (Speckner) Christopher.

On May 11, 1958, at Immanual Lutheran Church she married Marvin R. Hildebrand who preceded her death.

On Aug 15, 1970, at St. Paul Lutheran Church she married Jackie D. McKain who preceded her death.

Jo Ann was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a mother and homemaker.

Jo Ann is survived by her children David (Cathy) Hildebrand and Diane Whiting; daughter in law Penelope Hildebrand, grandchildren Thomas Evan Hildebrand, Lori Ann Hildebrand, Kailee (Tim) Bowman, Rachel Hildebrand, Logan (Destinee) Whiting, McKenna Whiting, McKaia Whiting; great grandchildren Lucian Whiting and Alucard Whiting.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, a sister – Janet, her husband’s Marvin and Jack, 2 children – Tom and Tony, and a grandson – David Joseph.

Funeral services will be held Saturday September 11 at 12:30 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 11 until the time of service.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be written to Redeemer Lutheran Church and Red Sky Rescue.

Joann was such a blessing to many, she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who knew her.

We are so sorry for your loss. She was a very sweet lady, we will miss her.

I’m so sorry to hear of Joann’s passing. I saw her a couple years ago and we had a good conversation at a not so good time. I’m so sorry David and Diane. Your mom was a great lady. I loved her and will miss her. Wish I could be there.

In 2005 JoAnn arranged for about a dozen of her first cousins to have fantastic 'picnic in the park' in Seymour. My late husband Gene was one of the attendees who enjoyed a wonderful Christopher celebration. She will be missed and is now in the safe hands of her loving Lord and Savior. Doreen Waldkoetter

I am very sorry to all the family to hear of Jo Ann’s passing. She was loved by all and will be missed. My grandmother Evelyn Johnson was her moms sister so we were at the farm many times as kids. May she Rest In Peace with rest of her family in heaven.
