Carolyn Ruddick, 85, of Seymour, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jackson County to the late Paul S. and Myrtle (Ross) Johnson.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, January 9 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from noon until time of service.
On August 16, 1952, in Lakewood, Colorado, Carolyn married Donald Ruddick; he preceded her in death. Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Church in Seymour for more than 50 years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Tony (Dottie) Ruddick, Richard (Angela) Ruddick, Deborah (Tony) Cockerham, Trina (Greg) Roark; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bernard (Joanne) Johnson, William (Shelby) Johnson, Paul S. Johnson, Jr.; sister, Dorothy (Marion) Rice as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepmother, Mary Johnson; sister, Juanita (Johnson) Vice; granddaughter, Toni Ruddick; and special grandmother, Flavia Johnson.
Memorials may be written to Schneck Medical Center Hospice, Medora Goes Pink, or Don & Dana Myers Cancer Center, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
