Danny, Jamie, Amy, and Sarah- I am so sorry for your loss. Berna was such a bright light. I have many fond memories of her antics at soccer or basketball games and her uncanny ability to make those around her smile. While losing her is bound to cause tears, may your memories of her fill you with warmth and love and bring comfort during the holiday season and beyond. Much love and prayers to all of you.

Burna was like a second mother to me. She comforted me when my Dad passed. We many a weekend at their house as I was growing up and she and I had an understanding when I was a kid. She made what she wanted to make to eat and I would eat it even if I didn’t want to. As an adult I was blessed to be able to take my kids to spend time by the pool and hang out with Danny, Burna and Jamie. I was blessed to get the chance to form an adult friendship with Burna. That alone is priceless. We love each and everyone of you! The world will be a little less bright without her in it! Love you all so much and sending prayers and love! Kim, Chad, Alex and Jordin

I agree! I cadet taught my senior year one semester with Berna, it was an absolute blast! I loved seeing the students that would usually be overlooked, written off, or left behind… flock to her. She had a way of getting through to the students you could tell didn’t trust or open up to many. She gave them a support they wouldn’t have otherwise. That always stuck with me. I never saw her give up on a kid, only fight harder for them. One of the few things I enjoyed about school senior year. I work with her daughter Jamie now, who I consider a dear friend. So many prayers for the family and anyone impacted by this loss, you as well Coach D!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Berna and Danny have been my friends for almost 40 years. Our children grew up together. We shared good times, sad times, lots of fun times, and hey let's make up a reason to get together times. Jamie, Amy and Sarah are such special young ladies. I cherish each and every one of them. Berna and Danny were there for me at a time in my life when it seemed no one else was. I will never forget that. They are my family. My life is richer for knowing Berna. We had so many great times together. We laughed, argued, discussed things, and tried to solve the injustice in our world. God bless her for putting up with me and Danny. My life is better for knowing her. She made this world a much better place. I will miss you my beach buddy.

Oh my dear Berna, you are going to be missed so deeply. We went through such a similar experience at almost the same time and you helped me fiercely fight and not give up on what was right. Always knowing we could commiserate and end in so much laughter. You were a light in this world. You touched my life in a way no one else could understand and I will forever be grateful for that. Sending so many prayers to your loved ones. Chris Gray

I first met Berna when my husband coached basketball at the middle school. They became friends and often traded insults and jokes with each other. She later ended up having some of our children in class. She drove by my house everyday and would honk at my girls waiting on the bus. When my husband passed away due to Covid as well in April she stopped by to check on the girls and I and pay her respects because that’s who Berna was a kind caring person! She always tried to do her part and what was best for people. She will be missed greatly by many she was truly one of a kind! My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with all of her family she was so very proud of you all! With Love, The Maschino Family

My deepest condolences to the family of Berna Jones. I am sad to hear about her passing. I too am an Advocate against Elder Abuse and Financial Elder Abuse. I was hoping one day to meet Berna in person here in Los Angeles and other Advocates and find many more ways to strongly end this heinous act of Elderly Abuse. Bow that she's up in the beautiful heavens above, I know she will be watching down on all of us. Prayers for the repose soul of Berna. May perpetual light shine upon her and may she rest in peace.

I am so very sorry to hear about Berna's passing. I offer my deepest sympathy to Berna's husband Danny, their daughters, and all family members. I came to know Berna several years ago in her advocacy against guardianship abuse. Her passion for truth, justice and being a faith based person made her a bright light that shined throughout all the darkness in the world today. I will never forget all her help and her friendship. I know she will be forever missed by her family and friends.
