Juanita Korte

Mrs. Juanita Korte, 87, of Seymour passed away 4:14 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Schneck Medical Center.

Born September 5, 1929, in Levi, KY, she was the daughter of Sim and Alma (Hurt) Johnson.

She married Arthur Korte on May 26, 1984 and he preceded her in death June 6, 2011.

Her former husband William H. “Stiffy” Owens, Sr. preceded her on September 4, 2008.

Juanita was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. She retired from the telephone company after 20 plus years of service; and then worked at the Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital office part-time for 10 plus years before retiring in 1984. Juanita was a member of the Eagles Club, VFW, and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries.

She is survived by her children William H. “Stiffy” (Jeannine) Owens, Jr., , Tom “Pidge” Owens, Lisa (Jeff) Atha, Lori (Ivan) Schultz and Jessica R. Korte (Cody) Vogel , daughter in law, Jane Owens, grandchildren Tyson Owens, Levi Stigdon, Nathan Owens, Jason Owens and Natasha Crum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Korte, former husband William Owens, Sr., 2 sons, Myron “Turtle” and Joseph “Ears” Owens, siblings Margaret, Annabell, Russell and Robert and Grandson Nicholas Owens.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Saturday 11:00 a.m., October 22, with Rev. Andrew Currao and Rev. Joseph Barlau, officiating.

Burial will take place Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss Chapel on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary service will be Friday 7:00 P.M. Voss Chapel.

Condolences may be sent to the family through Voss Funeral Service.
