Jean Yves Ishimwe, 23, of Rwanda, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017. He was born on Monday, May 23, 1994 in Huye, Rwanda. He went to Petit Seminaire Virgo Fidelis for high school and was a dual degree student at University of Michigan and Morehouse College. He passed away while doing an internship at Cummins in Seymour, Indiana.
Yves though seemingly lived a short life, he truly lived a purposeful life. He always wanted everybody around him to live up to his or her God given potential. He was a principled hard-working young man and a really devout catholic.
Throughout his life, he maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by his witness of brotherly love, unwavering faith and inquisitive intellect. His signature gift of joy, shown through his constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten
With a real zest for life, Yves loved to play piano, dance, read, pray, soccer, chat with friends and family, and travel…just to name a few.
He is survived by his brothers: Clement Uwitonze and Oliver Uwizeye; his US host family: The Jarvis, his close friends: Pacis Bana, Miguel Twahirwa, Thibault Twahirwa; and many other friends and acquaintances.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Laurent Habayezu and Anne-Marie Murerehe.
A graveside service will take place at a later date in his homeland of Rwanda.

Yet, beyond financial donations, Yves always lived by the Golden Rule and wanted everybody to be successful: Treat others the way you would like to be treated. i.e. Do a loving act of kindness, make someone laugh, and help one another to be better versions of oneself
