Although Dennis was in my graduating class (1970), I really did not have the opportunity to get to know him. I did, however, know his sister, Christine, from Choir class; and my husband, Joe Phillips, knows Ed. I believe the Jaynes had an extraordinary family. Sounds as though his neighbors held him in high regard. My sympathy and prayers are with every one of Denny's family members and friends. Brenda (Beineke) Phillips

Denny was a great man. Big hearted and funny. It took him awhile to come around since I didn’t grown up in the neighborhood- but once he realized we were hard working Lutherans he came around. (Funny sense of humor, huh?) he would drive from neighbor to neighbor checking in on them with Dummy, his big dog hanging out the back. He liked to drop off sweet corn, invite us to the 4th of July party, and have a few beverages. Our neighborhood will never be the same! He was a helpful neighbor, giving man, and patient with my son who always begged to drive the tractor with him! He was the kind of neighbor anyone would want; helpful, protective and thoughtful. We all will miss you and your jokes, funny sayings and all around big personality! I always thought a lot of his dedication to continue to check on a widowed neighbor- faithfully at 6pm I would see him driving down the road towards her way. Yes, rock and roll w Logan! Hang out with Dummy! Our family Sure will miss ya pal!!

Denny was so good-hearted. He would do anything he could to help you. He would "make his rounds" driving around the neighborhood, stopping in to make sure we were all OK. In the spring, you could count on him to come around with his John Deere tractor & tiller, ready to till our gardens. I'll be back in a couple of days "to hit it again" he would say. He would never allow us to pay him. He always had a goal to have fresh sweet corn ready from his garden by the 4th of July. Some years he accomplished that, other years he didn't. So many good memories of you dear cousin. You will be missed! Rock & roll in heaven with Logan now. Rock & roll!!!
