Leland Corne

Leland "Bud" Duane Corne,81, of Seymour, passed away October 21, 2008, at 7:10 PM at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Corne was born in Knox County, IN on July 31, 1927, the son of William L. Corne and Glenna E. (Randall) Corne Rogers.

On June 21st, 1947 he married Wanda Smith in Freelandville, IN. She survives in Dudleytown.

He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown. Mr. Corne retired as General Plant Manager from Indiana Telephone Company in 1979 after many years of service.

Besides his wife Bud is survived by his children; Jon ( Vicki) Corne, Nancy (Clifton) Tatum, grandchildren; Tracy (Ken) Haley, Joseph Leland Corne Busenbark, Caroline Jean Corne Busenbark, Nikki Corne, Jeremy Corne, Justin Corne, Jordyn (DJ) Henkle, Jaryn Corne, Jacob Corne, Alex (Vickie) Trimpe, Spencer Heyne, Tom Tatum, Jennifer (Kyle) Brown, Angela (Chris) Leder, Travis (Lesley) Berkey, great grandchildren; Haley Corne, Tyler Corne, Dusty Staggs, Cassidy and Keegan Haley, Kenzi Jo Henkle, Ava Voyles, Rylan Burrell, Colin and Madison Brown, Keaton and Carson Leder, Tyler, Gracie, and Evan Berkey, sisters; Doris (Robert) Johnson, Frances Hancher, Virginia Bogle, as well as several special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons; Jeffrey Duane Corne, Joseph Dale "Joe" Corne, brothers; Art, Roscoe, Edgar and Virgil Corne, granddaughter; Amanda Burrell, and great granddaughter; Adalyn Trimpe.

Funeral service will be held at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown on Saturday, October 25, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Scott Kozisek and Rev. Edgar Keinath officiating. Pall bearers will be Tom Tatum, Kyle Brown, Justin and Jacob Corne, Alex Trimpe, Spencer Heyne, DJ Henkle, and Jeremy Corne, honorary pall bearers, Norman Goecker, Ronnie Wehrkamp.

Burial will be at the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Dudleytown, with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, DAV 47 and Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM and at the Emanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of service.

Memorials may be written to the Emanuel Lutheran Tuition Fund, Crosslife Ministries or Trinity Lutheran High School.
