Jo Ann Thompson, 82, of Seymour, passed away at 11:35 AM, Friday, October 17, 2008, at Lutheran Community Home

Mrs. Thompson was born in Brownstown, IN, on April 8, 1926, the daughter of Frank B. and Pauline E. (Schneider) Gray.

On March 27, 1949, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Brownstown, with Rev. Theo. J. E. Herrmann officiating, she married James Temple Thompson. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2007.

Jo Ann was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and a great source of support to her husband. She graduated from Purdue University in 1948 majoring in Home Economics. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi and Psi Iota Xi. She was a dedicated volunteer and devoted many hours to the Boys Club, Cub Scouts, Church Supper Committee, as well as belonging to the Bridge Club and Embroidery Guild.

Jo Ann is survived by one daughter; Ann Louise (Rick) Taylor, two sons; James Thomas (Sylvia) Thompson, Robert David (Teresa) Thompson. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; James Harrison Thompson, Natalie Sichman, Christin Sichman, Nikki (Johnson) Helmuth, Katie Taylor, and Andrew Taylor, brother; Frank "Bud" (Wanda) Gray.

Besides her husband, she is preceded by her parents, and sister; Barbara Ellen Schreiner.

Services will be held at Voss Chapel on Tuesday, October 21, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Edgar Keinath officiating.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove Tribute.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Monday, from 4:00-8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until time of service.

Memorials may be written to the James T. Thompson Scholarship Fund or the First Presbyterian Church.
