Mrs. Janet Elizabeth Gill, 66, of Seymour, IN. passed away at 4:35 am, Sunday, Nov. 2nd, 2008 at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. She was born in Indianapolis, IN., February 12, 1942 to Earl Wilson and Dorothy (Rueff) Wilson, Franklin, IN. (Both preceded in death). Janet has lived most of her life in Seymour. On June 2, 1973 she married J. Stephen (Steve) Gill at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Seymour. Janet was a loving wife, mother and friend to all she met. She was a member of PSI IOTA XI Sorority, St. Ambrose Catholic Church and enjoyed attending Mass at Our Lady of Providence, Brownstown. She Graduated from Franklin High School, Franklin College and received her Masters of Education from Indiana University. She taught first grade at Jackson Elementary in Seymour for 9 years then chose to leave that profession to be a part-time bookkeeper for her husband and a full time mother to her children. She had many hobbies but most of all she enjoyed reading. She was a fabulous cook and was quite an accomplished seamstress. Survivors include her husband, Steve, who has served as Jackson County Comissioner for the past 20 years, 2-sons: Frederick S. (Fred) Gill, Toby L. Gill and, mother-in-law Doris Gill, Br-in-law: Ted R. Gill, 2-Sisters-in-law: Linda (Richard) Trimpe and Diane (Oscar) Villalvazo, several nieces and nephews, and 2 special friends; her dogs Jenny and Suzie. She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law John H. Gill. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, November 6, at 10:30 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 325 South Chestnut St., Seymour, with Father Todd Goodson Officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday 4-8 pm at Voss Chapel and on Thursday after 9:30 am until time of service at St Ambrose Catholic Church. Mausoleum encryptment will follow at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.
