Mr. Glen E. Haley, 86, of Seymour, IN., passed away at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 4th, 2008 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. with his family by his side.

Glen was born in Brownstown, IN on April 26, 1922, the son of the late Raymond Duff and Della (Eglen) Haley. He retired from the Seymour Fire Department where he served as fire chief from 1964 to 1971. He then worked at Cummins Engine Company for ten years in the security deparment.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt in WW II. He served his Country with honor and dignity in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes Rhineland Central Europe, American Theater Ribbon, European Theater Ribbon with 5-Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Distenguished Unit Badge, Bronze Arrowhead Voctory Medal of WW II. Glen was a member of: Masonic Lodge F & AM # 146, V.F.W. Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Elks Lodge, Eagles Club, Scottish Rite and Schriner Club.

Glen is survived by: three daughters, Glenda Burke,Cathy Thornton,Christine Haley
a son,Thomas E. Haley, Grandchildren: Melissa (David) Rhew, DeDee (Michael) Taylor, Thomas, Hartman, Michael Thornton, Melissa Thornton, Michael Burke and Stacy (Dan) Moran, 6-great grand and 1-great great grand, 1st wife Clara Motsinger Haley Taylor.

Preceded in death by:Parents, Wife: Maxine Salmon Haley, Siblings: Charlette, Della,Maude, Pete,Maurice,Joe,Patrick and Jack,

Funeral Service will be at Voss Chapel, Seymour, IN, at 1:30 pm on Saturday, November 8th, with Pastor Philip Bloch and Vicar Anthony Oliphant officiating.

Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 7th from 4-8pm. and Saturday after 12:00 noon until time of service at Voss Chapel. .

Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.

Family request donations be written to Kosair Childrens Hospital.

Full militray graveside service will be conducted by the V.F.W., American Legion, Vietnam Veterans, Korean Veterans and DAV all of Seymour.
Masonic Service will be conducted at Voss Chapel on Friday 7:00 pm
