Mr. George Washington Atwood, 48, of Seymour, passed away at 5:17 AM, Monday, November 3rd, 2008 at his residence in the presence of his family.

George was born in Columbia, KY on June 26, 1960, the son of Willie Lee and Ada M. (McFarland) Atwood. Father preceded in death, Mother survives

On August 18, 1980 in Haleysburg, IN. he married Rose M. (Abner) Atwood, Who survives. .He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed Bluegrass music. He was musically inclined as he could play many instruments, the mandolin, guitar and the bass guitar.

George was a member of the Seymour Community Church. He worked at NTN Driveshaft, Walesboro.

He is survived BY; wife, 2-children: George Adam Atwood and Ashley Elizabeth Atwood, 5-grand children: Kyra Alexis Phillips, Devon Micheal Atwood, Dylan Adam Atwood, Kaylee Aliyah Phillips and Samuel Edward Ellis Atwood, 1-brother: Willie Lyle (Melissa) Atwood, 9- sisters: Twin sister Nettie Elizabeth Atwood, Emma Plisko, Wilma (Herb) Taylor, Anna (Tom) Bishop, Lana Peyton, Martha (Bob) Malone, Theresa (Bob) Vondielingen, Nancy (Brad) Goben and Sue M. Smith, several nieces and nephews.

George is preceded in death by: father, 2-brothers: Edward Lee Atwood and Earl Dewain Atwood, 1-sister: Linda Darlene Morrison, 2-nephews: Earl Lee Wesley and Samuel James Smith

Funeral Service will be Thursday, Nov. 6, 1:00 pm at Voss Chapel, Seymour, IN, with Rev. Frank Holt officiating.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, Nov 5th from 4-8pm. and Thursday after 12 noon until time of service at Voss Chapel. .

Burial will follow at Cana Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.
