Mr. Wendel Lawrence "Mac" McNew, 82, of Seymour, passed away at 8:15 PM, Sunday, January 3rd, 2010 at Schneck Medical Center

Mac was born in Ekin, IN on August 24, 1927, the son of Ora Heath and Mary Francis (Kline) McNew.

On December 29, 1956 in Worthington, Indiana he married Marcia Jeanette Blair, who survives.

Mac was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jonesville.  He was retired from the military and also from Meadows Products in Columbus, IN where he worked as a tool and die maker.  He was a member of the Teamster's Union and was a Jonesville volunteer fireman.  Mac was a wonderful loving husband, father and grandfather.

Besides his wife, Mac is survived by his children,  JoAnn (Tom Elliot) Garcia, Robert McNew, Rosemarie McNew, Michele (Felix) Rodriquez, Dee (Don) Smith; grandchildren, James Francis, William (Melissa) Francis, Heather (Tom) Lovins, Shana (R.J. Lowe) Lovins, Darcy McNew, Josh (Amy) Hensley, Felix Rodriquez III, Ada (Joey) Hiten, Blair (Justin) Shepherd; great grandchildren, Natasha, Rheanna, Olivia, and Thomas Francis, Jesse and Ora Lovett, Savannah and Cierra Newcomb, Abigail, Felicity and Rebecca Lovins, Landon Hensley, Jaydon and Daisy Shepherd; sisters, Ralfetta Stiles, Flora Ritter; and a brother, James McNew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Dawn Polly; sisters, Mae Campfield, Mary McNew; brother, Clinton McNew; and great grandson, Haydon Shepherd.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Thursday, January 7 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Edgar Keinath officiating.

Burial will take place St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Jonesville, with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Memorials may be written to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Jonesville.
