Mr. Scottie LeRoy Owens age 45 of North Vernon, formerly of Seymour passed
> away at 11:25 am Sunday, December 20th, with his loving family by his
> side. He was born in Seymour on March 20, 1964, the son of Jerry L. Owens
> and Mrs. Peggy M. Sage ( Robert J.) Meyer. On June the 20th, 1981 in
> North Vernon,he married Carole R. Hall Owens, who survives.

> Scottie was a member of the Commiskey Baptist Church and the Labor Union
> Local 741. He worked in masonry construction all of his life. His last
> employer was Repp and Mundt General Contractors in Columbus. He enjoyed
> dirt track, stock car racing, as he especially enjoyed watching his son,
> Jeremy, race in the pure stock division at Brownstown Speedway, Twin City
> Raceway Park and Lawrenceburg Speedway. His greatest joy was spending time
> with his family and friends and especially with his two boys.

> He is survived by his wife, father, mother and step father, 2 sons: Jeremy
> S. Owens and Jacob L. Owens, 2 brothers: Shannon L. Owens and Casey
> Owens, 1 sister: Stephanie Owens and other special brothers and sisters.

> He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ross and Eva Sage,
> paternal grandparents, Frank and Mina Owens, aunt, Sandy Delph and sister- in-
> law, Bonnie Owens.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, at 10:30 am at Voss
> Chapel with Rev. Jerry Maynard officiating.

> Family and friends may visit at Voss Chapel on Tuesday, December 22 from, 3
> to 8 pm and on Wednesday after 9:30 am until time of service.

> Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.

> Friends are asked to give memorials to Scottie's sons educational fund,
> Jennings County Hospice or Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.
