Mr. Joseph Luther Sentz, 78, of Seymour, passed away at 8:05 PM on Saturday, February 6th, 2010 at his residence.
He was born in Littlestown, PA on December 7, 1931, the son of the late Richard and Nina (Butcher) Sentz.
He was the husband of Marjorie "Dottie" (Findley) Sentz. They were married December 29, 1950 in Crothersville, IN
He was retired from U.S. Shoe Corporation after 25 years, Cummins Engine Company after 15 years, and Seymour Community Schools with 10 years of service.
Joe enjoyed the outdoors and spending his time hunting and fishing. He loved to listen to gospel music and frequently sang along to his favorite songs. He was a member of the Lutheran Men's Chorus.
Mr. Sentz is survived by two sons: Joseph Michael "Mike", husband of Mary Sentz, and Mark Kevin, husband of Candy Sentz, and a brother, Brickley (Lottie) Sentz.
He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren: Brian Michael, Craig Allen (Stephanie), Kyle Andrew and Casey JoEllen Sentz and 2 Great Grandchildren: Brady Robert and MaKenna Marie Sentz; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Bowers.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Funeral Service will be conducted at Voss Chapel at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 11th, with Reverend Keith Ross officiating.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 10th from 4 - 8 PM and on Thursday from 9:30 AM to time of service at Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
Memorial Checks may be written to Peter's Switch Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or Hospice of Schneck Medical Center .Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.
