Mr. James "Jim" Robert Linn, 73, of , Freetown, passed away at 9:12 AM, Wednesday, November 25th, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis, IN.
Jim was born in Connersville, IN on May 7, 1936, the son of Pete and Iola Ione (Kanorr) Linn.
On April 9, 1976, in Connersville, IN, he married Joyce Ann Burns, who survives.
Jim was a member of the Freetown Nazarene Church. He served as a firefighter in Connersville from 1958 to 1978. Jim enjoyed his time as a firefighter because he was able to serve his neighbors, his community and save lives. With a love of community service in his heart, he continued to serve after moving to Freetown as he was active in his church's visitation ministry. Jim would go out of his way to help in anyway he could at his church and you could count on seeing him on Mondays and Thursdays at the Freetown Senior Citizen Center.
Besides his wife, Jim is survived by his children, Richard (Diane) Linn, Marsha (Doug) Day, Wayne (April) Burris, Michael (Ann) Linn, Jennifer Fox; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and brother, Duane (June) Linn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen Smith, Carolyn Harrison; brother, Alvin Linn and one infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Monday, November 30, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Donovan Newport officiating.
Burial will take place at Freetown Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.
Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
