Mr. Everett "Briggs" McGill, Jr., 84, of Seymour, passed away at 1:47 PM, Thursday, October 29th, 2009 at Schneck Medical Center
Everett was born in Jennings County, on February 27, 1925, the son of Everett and Thelma (Wilkerson) McGill.
In 1970 in Seymour he married Maude Beyer Prewitt, who survives.
Everett was a US Army Veteran. He had been owner of Briggs Fabrication. He was a member of the VFW # 1925, American Legion # 89, Seymour Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Masonic Lodge.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Sally McGill Reithel, Jane McGill Barker, Colletta Jo (George) Pfaffenberger, Mary (Hank) Schull, Susie (Larry) Snyder; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, John McGill, Charles McGill, and Roger McGill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dixie McGill Benedict; step daughter, Linda Brackemyre; step granddaughter, Michele Brackemyre; brothers, James McGill, Donald E. McGill; and sister Marjorie McGill.
A Graveside Service will be held at Riverview Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 31st with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by
VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. There will be a Voss Dove release.
Memorials may be written to the Donor's choice.
