Mrs. Esther A Woodard, 94 of Seymour, IN. passed away December 20, 2009 at Lutheran Community Home.
Esther was born in Jackson County on March 21, 1915, the daughter of the late Henry and Amelia (Kranning) Hohnstreiter.
She married William H. "Bill" Woodard on July 29, 1939. He passed away December 3, 2000.
Esther was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and seamstress. Esther sewed for most of Jackson County.
She is survived by one brother-in-law, Herb Woodard, one sister-in-law, Mildred Ruwe and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and four sisters, Lydia Cordes, Clara Dixon, Eda Rasp and Alma York.
Funeral service will be held at Voss Chapel at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 23, with Rev. David Moss and Rev. Aaron Rosenau officiating.
Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00, Tuesday, December 22, 2009 and 12:30 until service time Wednesday at Voss Chapel.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorial checks may be written to Peace Lutheran Church, Lutheran Community Home or Donor's Choice.
Arrangements are under the caring direction of Voss Funeral Service.
