Mrs. Ella Mae Hollowell, 93, of Seymour, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 6, 2009 at The Waters Nursing Home.
She was born in Brown County, IN on June 22, 1916. The daughter of Isaac W. and Lola (Carmichael) Tabor.
She was a person of strong faith and was a member of the Golden Owls, Tri-Mu Sunday School Class and Edna Martin Missionary Circle at the First Baptist Church of Seymour. She was a Life Time member of the Eastern Star, Foster Grandparent, Head Start volunteer, Democratic Precint Committee Person Hall of Fame, Founder of the Jackson Park Nursing Home (The Waters) and worked and retired from the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Crothersville.
Ella Mae was married to William R. Hollowell on January 28, 1944. He preceded her in death May 23, 1990. Her parents, 7 brothers, 2 sisters ,1 son and 1son-in-law also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son Gene L. Hollowell (Connie), daughter Mary Green, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, nieces, Lori Randall (Robert), Lisa Tabor, several other loving nieces and nephews and her special extended families, Cindy Oakes (Denny) and Marcia Hatton (Greg).
She was a loving and caring person and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00am, December 11 2009 at Voss Funeral Service with Rev. Bruce E. Cochran and Rev. Larry Tinge officiating.
Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with a Voss Dove Release.
Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Thursday, December 10 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and Friday from 9:00am until service.
An Eastern Star Service will be conducted at Voss Chapel Thursday at 7:30pm.
Memorials may be written to the First Baptist Church of Seymour or Hospice of Jennings County.
