Mrs. Dorothy Louise Rutan, 90, of Seymour, passed away at 1:45 AM, Monday, February 22nd, 2010, at Schneck Medical Center
Dorothy was born in Seymour, IN on October 4, 1919, the daughter of Burl A. and Ethel (Lattimore) Green.
On February 9, 1946, she married Archie Rutan who preceded her in death on July 23, 1973.
Dorothy worked as a housekeeper, babysitter and helped her husband deliver the Tribune for many years. She loved life and enjoyed baking and sharing the goodies she made with everyone.
Dorothy leaves numerous nieces and nephews, including Marsha (Steve) Whipker; Rachel, Courtney, and Bill Whipker, who lovingly referred to her as their "Nanna".
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Virgil Green, Orvis Green, Maurice "Marty" Green, Ralph "Nonie" Green, Robert Green, Marvin Green, Johnny Green; sisters, Mildred McAllister, Norma Gay, and Mary Alice Moore.
Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Thursday, February 25, at 2:30 PM with Rev. James Rodriguez officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 12:30 PM until time of service.
Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, IN.
