Dorothy Carolyn Ruddick, 81, of Seymour died at 4:15 AM Wednesday morning, February 10, 2010  in Seymour.

Dorothy was born April 19, 1928, at Carthage, Rush County, Indiana.  She was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Florence (Gorbett) Anderson.

On April 7, 1944, in Seymour, she married Paul Ruddick, a soldier in the US Army Air Corps stationed at Freeman Field.  She was married by her great grandfather, Rev. John "Albert" Gorbett.
Paul preceded her in death on October 19, 2001.

Dorothy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Seymour.  She was a homemaker, and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of  VFW Post 1925 and American Legion Post 89, both of Seymour.

She is survived by her children, Pauline (Michael) Wright, Sheila (Denver) Stahl, Cindy (Larry) Galbraith, Pam (Nick) Daniel, Randy (Tina) Ruddick, Kim Brewer; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; brother, Walter O. Anderson; sisters, Mary J. Yeadon, Ilene Hale and Imogene Creech.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Herbert, William and Gene Anderson; sister, Delores Huff, and infant sisters, Norma Jean Anderson and Irene Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Saturday, February 13 at 11:00 AM with
Rev. David Schrock officiating.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Friday, from 4:00-8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.  An American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Service and a VFW Ladies Auxiliary Service will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM.

Memorials may be written to Calvary Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
